Trending – Selfie in the Nude

What happens in a bathroom is a private affair. We have had unfortunate instances where videos of Film personalities disrobing or having bath going viral. (Click to Tweet) While this is clandestine in nature captured by hidden cameras, there is a brand new trend for self or selfie destruction.

Recently we have read news reports about a neighbour fixing a pen camera in a bathroom with intention of capturing his friend's wife’s bathing/disrobing.'This is another way of technology being misused for voyeuristic pleasure.

I had talked about the increasing trend in an earlier blog (Porn for Indians – Taboo says the deciders) about the way women are allowing men to shoot them either disrobing or in the sexual act and these videos going viral most likely without the knowledge of the woman concerned. These women are not professionals in the mold of Sunny Leon or Sherlyn Chopra who are posing for camera's and are willing to be shot in nude and earn money for the same. These are ordinary home makers, school/college kids etc being gullible or naive.

What is really disturbing is the fact that from hostel videos where top less girls are shot on video by a mate, dancing around as fun, trend is now moving into the selfie mode. When a young girl decides to shoot herself in the buff, what is her intention, show of her body to another friend or enjoy looking at her body when she is free. This is the problem area. One should not have any issues with a girl wanting to shoot her selfie in the buff, but what precautions, she is taking about the clip falling in the wrong hands.

Increasingly, girls nude pictures and videos are going viral, which are self shot there is absolutely no force nor coercion. While writing this article, just checked on the net, there are even blogs which tell the girls how to prepare themselves for selfie videos n picture in the nude. Of course there are few smart ones who will take you around for a visual treat without showing their face.

While some videos are self uploaded it is possible most of them remain in the phone or in the memory card, either when a phone is lost or sold or given for repair these images & video clips are getting in to the wrong hands and going viral, in the liberal world it may not have any impact, however in some traditional homes this exposure can create havoc and can lead to some extreme steps too.

It is possible boys are doing this too, but these pictures or videos do not get circulated much for the simple reason, no man likes to promote another and create a competition for themselves. If the girls are at it, then, kudos to the generation 'now'.

But internet is full of these 'Selfie in the buff' pictures saving the trouble of having to pose in front of someone but showcase yourself to the world. India is slowly catching up with global standards for 'Selfie in the buff'.
